Establishment of a pilot insurance program for fishermen

The ministry of fisheries said it would, henceforth, cover the damages sustained by fishermen during the occurrence of catastrophes. Fishermen will therefore be covered against the risks of death, disability, or destruction of their working tools in the occurrence of a natural event. At the same time, the authorities have taken steps to obtain credits in order to transfer this program to an insurer. This pilot project should see the light of day in the first quarter of 2014.
