Growth of the Kenyan insurance in 2012

The 2012 results of the Kenyan market have been published, with total turnover increasing by 11.4% at 108.6 billion KES (1.27 billion USD). With 66% of market shares, non-life insurance remains dominant. Results have improved significantly due to the performance of the Nairobi Stock Exchange.
Insurers Britam and CIC posted the highest profits with 2.5 and 1.3 billion KES (29 and 15 million USD) respectively. Reinsurance companies have performed better than insurers as their turnover jumped from 20.6% to 10.4 billion KES (121 million USD).
