Health insurance and air pollution in India

Air pollution in Dehli is causing an increasing number of hospitalizationsn which would not, however, result in higher health insurance premiums.

According to Gurdeep Batra, underwriting manager at Bajaj Allianz, the severe pollution peak in the Indian capital is unlikely to have an impact on insurers' health rates. G. Batra alos believes that the health situation would gradually improve.

Abhishek Bondia, general manager of the brokerage company Securenow, said that only a health hazard lasting from five to seven years could lead to higher health insurance rates.
