Hollard Insurance get hold of Met Insurance

IVM Intersurer , the main shareholder of Hollard Insurance , has acquired a majority stake (51% ) in the Ghanaian insurance company "Metropolitan Insurance".

The South African insurer intends to strengthen the skills of Met Insurance and develop the company's business through new products in the fields of personal insurance, bancassurance and microinsurance.
Strategically , Ghana is an ideal relay for IVM Intersurer and Hollard Insurance before settling in Nigeria and Kenya.

According to the American firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Ghana represents, along with Kenya and Nigeria, a preferential target for South African companies , the country is endowed with a strong economic growth , a low penetration rate and a growing demand for insurance.
