Insurance contract delivery henceforth subject to settlement of road fines

Algerian motorists will now be required to pay their fines for road offences before they can underwrite or renew an insurance policy. Application for a registration card or technical control certificate is equally submitted to this measure.

The new obligation introduced in the 2018 finance law provides for the allocation of 20% of the amounts generated from paid fines to the financing of road safety.
