The insurer APA is offering a cover against political risks

APA Insurance has been recently distributing insurance policies covering political risks including terrorism and sabotage. This cover is offered as a supplement to the motor and property insurance policies. A reinsurance plan has been established in association with African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI). The latter is likely to benefit from a premium volume of 31 million KES (429 040 USD)in terms of this new cover. The violence that ensued the 2007's elections caused claims of 1 billion KES (14. 9 million USD).
