Kenya, mergers and acquisitions shall multiply

Kenyan authorities are expecting a growth in mergers and acquisitions. The amendments made at the level of the insurance code will be introducing as of June 2016 a big change.

The adjustment pattern of corporate capital will be therefore based on the kind of risks in portfolio. This measure will promote rapprochement between insurance companies or capital increases.

Insurers are required to comply with the new requirements by 2018, even though they are asking for an additional period in order to transform their balance sheet and use their cash for the boosting of their underwritings.
