Merger between the two Iraqi national insurers

The regulatory authority Iraqi Insurance Diwan (IID) has announced the start of the legal procedures to ratify the merger of the two state-owned insurers: Iraq Insurance and National Insurance.

This operation would be the first step of a broad wave of consolidation the market should witness.

According to the initiators of the project, this initiative will contribute to the development of Iraqi insurance, a sector in search of a new breath and new capacities.
