Morocco, insurance draft bill against natural catastrophes

The governmental council has adopted a bill providing for the establishment of an insurance scheme to cover natural catastrophes.

The provision shall ensure the promotion of a plan with two levels of protection. The first level dedicated to victims having insurance contracts and the second for those devoid of any protection.

The bill will also ensure a minimum threshold compensation for individuals having sustained bodily damage and for those having been affected by the loss of their dwellings upon the occurrence of a natural catastrophe.
