New product, riots and civil commotion for individuals

Alliance Assurances will soon seek approval from the Ministry of Finance for a new insurance product designed to compensate individuals for damages suffered following social unrest.
Small traders will also be able to extend their professional comprehensive insurance to include riots and civil commotion covers. According to an estimate by Alliance Assurances, the damages due to the recent riots would amount to 500 million DZD (7 million USD). In Algeria, traditional insurance contracts do not cover this type of risk.
