SOMAVIE, results well below its objectives

With a premium amount of 505 034 686 FCFA (1 049 248 USD) in 2004 instead of the 686 400 000 FCFA (1 426 049 USD) expected, the Compagnie d'Assurance Somavie's balance sheet is well below the set objectives.
This poor performance led the company to change down from fourth to sixth position in the standings of national insurance companies.
In its recovery plan, the company envisaged a series of measures: to commercialize new products, to accelerate disaster settlement and to enlarge agency networks.
