Toll of the Boeing 727 crash in Cotonou

At least 138 passengers perished in Cotonou on Friday, December 26, 2003 in the crash of the Boeing 727 soon after takeoff. The plane, chartered by UTA (Union of African Air Carriers), was en route to perform the regular link Conakry-Cotonou-Beirut with 161 people on its board. The aircraft was insured with one of the Lloyd's syndicates.
