Jun 2014 Diamond Insurance has been officially launched during a ceremony in Maputo on thursday 26 June 2014. According to its president, Jose Viegas, Diamond is the first company in the country to distribute agriculture insurance. The company will also provide hull and cargo, motor, home, and business insurance.
Among the shareholders of the new entity are Nicoz Diamond and the ABC Bank Group (Zimbabwe) ,who together hold 40% of the capital and the Mozambican shareholder, Antonio Costa, with a 20% share.
