According to the data published by the national insurance board, (CNA), the Algerian insurance market posted a turnover of 68.3 billion DZD (635.3 million USD) in the first half of 2017, down by 3.2% in comparison with the same period of 2016.
The sector remains under the grip of the non life business which accounts for up to 90.2% versus 9.8% for the life business. These rates correspond to the respective premium amounts of 61.6 billion DZD (573 million USD) and 6.7 billion DZD (62.3 million USD).
