Jan 2018 Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) achieved, at the end of December 2017, a result in sharp decrease to 115 million USD.
This net result was 284 million a year before. The turnover totaled 3.2 billion USD, up by 18% compared to 2016. The non-life combined ratio deteriorated by 7.8 points from 98% in 2016 to 105.8 % twelve months later.
This aggravated claims experience is particularly due to the large-scale natural catastrophes that hit the United States in 2017.
