Torrential rains and violent thunderstorms swept across Slovenia on 3 August 2023, causing landslides and catastrophic flooding.
The disaster claimed three lives, including two Dutch nationals and a Slovenian, and resulted in extensive material damage.
Based on initial estimates, the losses may exceed 500 million EUR (550.215 million USD).
This is the worst natural catastrophe [4] to strike the country in the last three decades.
