Zurich Insurance has recorded a 6% increase in its net profit to 2.492 billion USD for the first half of 2023.
The group's operating result remains virtually stable at 3.72 billion USD, compared with 3.738 billion USD at end June 2022.
The Group's property-casualty business (P&C) posted an 8% increase in written premiums, amounting to 24.56 billion USD as at 30 June 2023. The non-life combined ratio dropped by 1.3 points to 92.9%, for an operating profit of 2.247 billion USD.
The life premiums progressed by 13% to reach 8.242 billion USD at the end of the first half of 2023 against 7.283 billion USD during the same period of 2022. The half-year operating profit for the life business stood at 939 million USD.
