AXA's Future Risks Report 2023 ranks major risks based on their potential impact on society. AXA has released two rankings. The first compiles the findings of 3500 experts from 50 countries. The second summarizes what 20 000 people in 15 countries, selected from the general public, think.For the second year running, experts have ranked climate change at the top of the list of risks for Africa. Financial stability risks are gaining momentum, moving into second place ahead of cyber security risks.

Just like experts, the general public also considers climate change to be the top priority. The risk of pandemics and infectious diseases has moved down one place since 2022, and is now ranked second on the list, followed by the risk of pollution.
