The 34th General Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) came to a close on 21 February 2024 in Muscat, Oman.
At the end of the biannual meeting, which focused on the theme of "Sustainability and inclusivity in the Arab insurance industry: How Arab insurers leverage the artificial intelligence revolution", Chakib Abuzaid, Secretary General of the GAIF, listed the following recommendations:
- improving the training of actuarial executives,
- encouraging the use of artificial intelligence in risk calculation,
- strengthening cooperation between Arab insurance federations in order to find solutions to the impact of natural disasters,
- improving online underwriting through the Orange Card [4],
- studying the possibility of establishing an Arab fund to manage the Orange Card.
The 35th GAIF General Conference is scheduled to take place in Jordan in 2026.
