2007 results of AWRIS

Being an insurance pool specialized in war risks, Arab War Risks Insurance Syndicate (AWRIS) has reported a net premium volume of 20.2 million USD in 2007, that is, a 14,61% rise in comparison with 2006, and a net profit of 13.6 million USD, that is, an increase of 25.64% in comparison with the year before.

AWRIS was set up in 1980 by several Arab insurance and reinsurance companies. Initially based in Iraq, AWRIS was later transferred to Bahrain where it was granted license in 1994. The syndicate currently includes 160 member companies from 19 Arab countries.
