2017 ranking of life insurance companies in Senegal

With a turnover of 14.1 billion FCFA (23.59 million USD), SONAM Vie is ranking in the forefront of Senegalese life market in 2017. The company accounts for 25% of the overall life underwritings.

SONAM Vie is followed by AMSA Vie and SUNU-Vie with respectively 10.25 billion FCFA (17.15 million USD) and 9.39 billion FCFA (15.71 million USD) in premiums. These three insurers, alone, controlled 59% of the market shares in 2017. They are followed by NSIA-Vie 7.25 billion FCFA (12.13 million USD), Allianz Vie 7.1 billion FCFA (11.88 million USD), Wafa-Vie 5.78 billion FCFA (9.67 million USD), Sen-Vie 1.89 billion FCFA (3.16 million USD) and SAAR Vie 1.37 billion FCFA (2.29 million USD).

The Senegalese life insurance market, made up of the eight afore-mentioned companies, reported an aggregate turnover of 57.1 billion FCFA (95.53 million USD) in 2017, up by 24.5% in comparison with 2016.
