250 000 claim cases have been in the process of being settled for 3 to 8 years

According to Amara Latrous, President of the Algerian Insurers' Union, 250 000 claim cases have been in the process of being settled for 3 to 8 years. These delays are accounted for by the systematic recourse to justice for the determination of the compensation fees. The adoption of a convention with all of the operators is likely to lead to the settlement of the cases pending during the third quarter of 2008.
