32% of claims are fraudulent in South Africa

Insurance fraud has become a real scourge in South Africa. According to South African Insurance Association, 32% of the claims reported to insurance companies are fraudulent. This practice triggers not only losses to insurers but it also causes tariff increases and delay in file processing duties.

In an effort to counter this phenomenon, local insurance companies are currently devising a system for the exchange and control of information.
