Burkina Faso, a new health mutual company sees the light of day

A new health mutual company, named “Kénéya”, started its underwriting activities as of April 8, 2016 with three products: Santé Mini (Mini Health), Santé Maxi (Maxi Health) and Santé Class (Class Health). These products will be available with four options called Solo (sole), Duo (dual), Famille Mono (mono family) and Famille (family) (limited to 4 children).

This mutual project is the outcome of a partnership brokered between The Banque Atlantique, the Association Santé pour Tous (health for everyone) (AST) and the insurance broker ASCOMA.

A portion of the population, so far left out from the classic systems of health insurance, will now have access to health care services at reduced costs. A decrease in Maternal and neonatal mortality is ultimately expected to play out soon
