A new programme to support Africa against climate catastrophes

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has launched "Africa Disaster Risks Financing" (ADRiFi), a new financing and insurance program whose objective is to reduce the vulnerability of the African continent against natural disasters.

The programme will enable African countries to optimize their risk management. The first phase of the project will be implemented during the 2019-2023 period.

Burkina Faso, Gambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Chad have already expressed their interest in ADRiFi.
