A new reinsurer in Ghana

GN Reinsurance Company Limited (GN Re) is the latest comer entering the Ghanaian reinsurance market. Its capitalization amounts to 80 million GHS (25 million USD). GN Re is part of the private conglomerate "Nduom Group" established in the financial sectors, hostelry, information technology, media, and entertainment.

The two other local reinsurers are Ghana Re and Mainstream Re. According to the insurance code, Ghanaian insurers are required to exhaust local capacity before placing their risks with international partners. GN Re is endowed with an underwriting capacity of 25 million GHS (7.8 million USD) on the best risk.
