A Russian company sues Boeing

BoeingBoeing is sued by a Russian leasing company Avia Capital Services (ACS). The latter filed a lawsuit against the aircraft manufacturer in the Chicago court.

The Russian company is seeking 75 million USD in compensation from Boeing for the loss of profit following the suspension of deliveries of the 737 Max. In addition, ACS requires interest reimbursement of the 40 million USD down payment made upon ordering the aircraft, that is a total of 15 million USD. Compensatory damages, as well as "several times that amount" in punitive damages are to be added.

Despite these requirements, Avia Capital Services says it is open to dialogue and does not rule out an amicable settlement.
