A second earthquake hits China in less than a week time

SéismeIn June 22th,2019 an earthquake of 5.4 on the scale of Richter struck the district of Gongxian in the province of Sichuan (south-west China). First toll rose to 31 injured people.

In June 17th,2019 a first earthquake with a magnitude of 6 on the Richter scale hit the city of Yibin in the same region. Thirteen people have lost their lives and 220 were injured. The disaster affected more than 140 000 persons within which 80 000 have been evacuated. More than 12 700 houses were damaged.

The region where the claim took place holds 115700 housings covered by an earthquake policy. The value of the properties insured has reached 2.94 billion YAN (424 million USD). The claim of June 17th has caused losses to nearly 100 insurers. No total estimation of the damages has been announced up to now.
