About 90% of motorcycles are not insured

According to Kamel Chibani, executive manager of the Tunisian federation of insurance companies (FTUSA), 90% of the two-wheelers, that is nearly two million motorcycles, are running on the Tunisian roads without any insurance cover.

This decried situation is causing significant losses to local insurers. In fact, the claims received for accidents caused by motorcycles are four times higher than the volume of premiums written for this type of vehicle.
