ACE is back on the South African market

The American giant ACE, whose operations on the South African insurance market were suspended in 2000, is about to restart business in June 2006. This comeback occurs as it obtained a new license and a partnership agreement with Hollard Insurance. ACE SA's management has been entrusted to the New Zealander Scott Pickering.
This return is likely to contribute to the revival of competition on the market which has seen the number of its players dwindle down from 72 to 53 in the course of the last ten years.
