Acquisition of XL Group by AXA

AXA is completing the acquisition of the Bermudan-based XL Group, a major player in the global P&C commercial lines.

The amount of the transaction amounts to 15.3 billion USD. This acquisition will enable AXA to become the number one global P&C commercial lines insurer.

Announced in March 2018, AXA's acquisition of the XL Group is the largest external growth transaction undertaken by the French insurer.

In 2006, AXA took over the Swiss company Winterthur for 11.19 billion USD.
