Aetna to support the SMEs

In order to alleviate the burden of the pandemic on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the health insurance expert Aetna, is committed to offering a one-month free health cover.

The initiative targets SMEs in Europe, the Middle East and Africa that have joined the "Summit" group insurance scheme. Not only does the offer apply to contracts expiring between 1 May and 1 July 2020, but also the underwritings of the next three months.

Aetna, is also to provide full reimbursement of COVID-19 diagnostic testing and remove the deductibles for inpatient hospitalizations. Ultimately, the insurer is setting up a virtual health service via a platform named VHealth.
