Africa Re to fight coronavirus in Africa

Africa Re is to allocate 3.3 million USD to help fight coronavirus. The sum will be disbursed to state and private institutions through the reinsurer's local offices.

Various associations and organizations will also benefit from these donations. The aid will be managed by the Africa Re Foundation.

• 2 million USD will be allocated to Africa Re's eight offices in Lagos, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Cairo, Abidjan, Casablanca, Mauritius and Addis Ababa.

• 820 000 USD will be given to 41 associations in the 41 member states of Africa Re.
• 500 000 USD will be allotted to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
