Alarming report on natural catastrophes

According to a report by the British humanitarian organisation Oxfam published on November 25, 2007, the number of natural disasters related to climate disturbances has quadrupled during the recent 20 years. The number of events has risen from an average 120 a year at the beginning of the 1980s to about 500 events now. The number of victims has increased by 68%, going up from 174 million a year between 1985 and 1994 to 254 million a year from 1994 to 2004.
