Allianz is planning acquisitions in non-life insurance

Mickael Diekmann, chairman of Allianz management board, has stated that his group is planning to make some acquisitions in non-life insurance. Munich’s insurer is particularly keen on targets located in Western Europe without ruling out any opportunity presenting itself in Asia, Central or Eastern Europe. M. Diekmann has, nonetheless acknowledged the current rates remain quite high. The company’s chief financial officer has maintained the current forecasts for the 2012 operational results while some shareholders reckon that this estimate is well below the excellent performance realized during the first quarter of the year.
