AM Best affirms ratings of CCR and CCR Re

AM Best has confirmed the "A+" (Superior) financial strength and "aa" long-term credit ratings of Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR). The rating agency also confirmed the "A" (Excellent) financial strength and "a" long-term credit rating of CCR Re, the French group's commercial reinsurance subsidiary. The outlook remains stable.

AM Best justified its decision on the basis of the strength of both companies' balance sheets, their adequate operating performance and their appropriate management of business risks. The ratings also take into account the unlimited coverage provided by the French government to CCR's activities.

AM Best also commends CCR's favorable business profile and its position as the leading reinsurer of natural disaster risks in France.
