A.M. Best grants Zep Re a B++ rating for its financial soundness

A.M. Best has granted a B++ rating to Zep Re for its financial soundness and a bbb for its long-term credit, with stable outlooks. The rating agency found the reinsurer’s venture capital excellent and considered its underwriting results quite solid.

A.M. Best has underscored Zep Re’s improved competitiveness in the region, highlighting the company’s risk management skills. The reinsurer’s profitability remains good especially thanks to a loss ratio of 55% in 2015.

ep Re’s exposure to the volatile business environment in Kenya and to the very competitive conditions of the reinsurance market has nonetheless strained the reinsurer’s results.
