Amazon, JPMorgan, and Berkshire Hathaway close Haven’s activities

HavenThe online marketplace Amazon, the JPMorgan bank, and the insurer Berkshire Hathaway are to put an end to the operations of Haven, a health insurance joint venture, in February 2021.

The joint venture, a non-profit organization, was to provide health coverage for the employees of the three groups.

In fact, each of the three founding companies ran their projects separately, resulting in the underutilization of Haven, which no longer had a valid reason to exist. In addition, the resignation of Harvard surgeon Atul Gawande as CEO also played a significant role in the decision to close the joint venture.
