Andrea storm is estimated at several hundreds of million Euros

According to Deutsche Rückversicherung, Andrea storm is likely to cost insurers between 200 and 400 million EUR (260 and 520 million USD). These figures remain below the damages caused by previous storms, Xynthia (2011) and Kyrill (2007) which had caused damages respectively amounting to 500 million EUR (647 million USD) and 2.4 billion EUR (3.5 billion USD). Deutsche Rückversicherung is reinsuring the 11 German state-owned insurers, which allows it to underwrite approximately 30% of the insurance for the buildings constructed in the country.
