Application for the deregulation of motor third party liability cover rejected

The Jordanian Consumer Protection Society (CPS) has turned down the application for tariff deregulation of the motor third party liability insurance, asked by all insurers. The latter argue that their losses are mainly accounted for by the low motor third party liability tariffs imposed by the State. According to CPS, the rationale behind this denial pertains to the possible rise of prices that tariff deregulation would have triggered but insurers are not convinced.
