Assurance Salim: increase in 2018 turnover
The Tunisian insurance company Salim recorded a 13% increase of turnover in 2018, from 90.2 million TND (36,4 million USD) in 2017 to 101.5 million TND (33,7 million USD), a result exceeding the expected targets.
With an increase of 20.49%, non-life premiums amounted to 61 million TND (20,3 million USD). However, life insurance premiums slightly rose by 2.5% in 2018. The 2018 portfolio remained dominated by the non-life class of business with 60.14% of premiums against 39.86% for life insurance.
The incurred losses slightly increased (+ 4%) compared to 2017 going from 51.7 million TND (17 million USD) to 54 million TND (17.9 USD). The financial products reported a sharp growth of 45%, from 7.7 million TND (2.5 million USD) in 2017 to 11.9 million TND (3.9 million USD) in 2018.
