Authors benefit from a social cover

Senegal’s authors’ association (AES) has underwritten a life (social welfare) for its 50 members. Against the payment of an annual premium of 6000 FCFA (12 USD), an author, member of AES, gets insured in case of disability and death risks. In the event of loss, the affiliate’s family is entitled to 1 million FCFA (2 011 USD). This coverage comes within the framework of the convention for the social protection of artists, which has materialized through the signing of an agreement on June 23, 2010, between the government, a pool of insurers and the community of artists.
