Aviva withdraws from Delta Lloyd

Aviva has completed the sale of 19.4% stake it still held in Delta Lloyd. Since April 2011, the British insurer has gradually reduced its participation in its former Dutch subsidiary. The amount of the transaction is 433 million EUR (572 million USD). Aviva said that the Benelux region is no longer considered strategic by the Group. Last summer, the British insurer unveiled a plan to sell 16 of its 58 activities and identified 12 key markets where it hopes to generate substantial profits.
