AXA: Antoine Gosset-Grainville, new Chairman of the Board of Directors

Antoine Gosset-GrainvilleAXA's Board of Directors has appointed Antoine Gosset-Grainville to take over from Denis Duverne as Chairman of the group's Board of Directors.

D. Duverne will step down at the end of his term, which expires in April 2022.

A graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies, the University of Paris IX Dauphine and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration, A. Gosset-Grainville began his career in 1993 at the Inspection Générale des Finances.

In 1997, he was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as an advisor for economic and industrial affairs in Pascal Lamy's cabinet at the European Commission.

In 2002, he became a partner at the Gide law firm, where he ran the Brussels office for five years, before being appointed Deputy Director of the Prime Minister's office in 2007, in charge of economic and financial affairs and the policy of the State-owned enterprise.

A. Gosset-Grainville joined the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (Deposits and Consignments Fund) in 2010 as Deputy General Manager of finance, strategy and investments. He is currently a partner in the law firm BDGS which he co-founded in 2013.

A. Gosset-Grainville will join the AXA board in 2020 as an administrator.

Concurrently, the new chairman will keep his position as a lawyer.
