Axa closes 18 branches in Ireland

Axa intends to close 18 of its 42 branches in the Republic of Ireland. This decision will take effect at the beginning of 2018.

The French insurer justifies this position by the results of a survey conducted within its insured which shows that nearly 90% of customers favor distance contract purchase (via internet or mobile phone). Only 9% prefer to go to the agency to underwrite an insurance policy. The closure of these entities will result in the dismissal of 100 persons.
