AXA Group: two new appointments

AXAAXA has made two new appointments to its management team.

Effective as of 1 September 2022, Andrew Wallace-Barnett, 54, has been promoted Group Chief Compliance Officer. He will be replacing Ian Johnson, who is retiring after 30 years with the company.

A. Wallace-Barnett will report to George Stansfield, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, General Secretary and member of Axa's Executive Committee.

A. Wallace-Barnett holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and information sciences from the University of Tasmania and is a member of the Australian Institute of Actuaries. He joined the French insurer in 1988 where he held several positions in France and Australia during his 34 years of activity.

Anu Venkataraman is replacing Andrew Wallace-Barnett as Head of Investor Relations. She will report to Alban De Mailly Nesle, CFO, and Georges Desvaux, Group Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer.

Venkataraman, 51, has a master's degree in business administration, finance and accounting from the University of Rochester in the United States.

Prior to her recent appointment, Venkataraman was Senior Research Analyst at AllianceBernstein, AXA's U.S. subsidiary, since 1993.
