Axa publishes its 2016 results
Axa closed the year 2016 with a net profit of 5.829 billion EUR (6.396 billion USD), up by 4% in comparison with 5.617 billion EUR (5.918 billion USD) a year earlier.
The Operating income amounted to 5.688 billion EUR (6.215 billion USD) in 2016, up by 3% compared to 2015.
With a 2% increase, the total turnover exceeded, for the first time, the symbolic bar of 100 billion EUR to 100.193 billion EUR (109.48 billion USD).
The non-life combined ratio showed a slight drop going from 97.5% in 2015 to 97.7% in 2016. Return on equity (ROE) has also declined displaying 13.5% at the end of 2016 against 14.1% in 2015.
Finally, the group announced an increase in its dividend per share to 1.16 EUR (1.22 USD) compared with 1.1 EUR (1.2 USD) in 2015.
