Brexit: "A green card" to circulate between the European Union and the United Kingdom

BrexitIn case of a no-deal Brexit, UK motorists will need a "green card" to drive in the European Union.

The obligation of this document could affect the circulation within the European Economic Area in particular between the border countries such as Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
European drivers travelling to the UK will also need a similar document.

According to the insurers, these cards would be provided free of charge. However, insurers will be able to increase their administrative costs to cover the additional costs. The absence of a "green card" could be sanctioned by a fine.

The British and European insurance authorities have already worked on this issue and an agreement has even been reached to avoid the introduction of such cards. However, the European Commission has not ratified the agreement.
