California destroyed by worst wildfires in its history

evastating wildfire in CaliforniaSince 17 August 2020, U.S. firefighters have been containing the "LNU Lightning Complex", the second most devastating wildfire in California's history. As of August 23, the area of land engulfed by the flames reached 140 681 hectares.

A second "SCU Lightning Complex" fire broke out on August 18. It ranks as the third largest wildfire with 137 580 hectares reduced to ashes.

So far, 840 buildings have been destroyed and 119 000 people have been evacuated. The 13 000 firefighters mobilized to put out the flames managed to contain only 21% of the LNU Lightning Complex and 10% of the SCU Lightning Complex.
