CCR and CCR Re: 2021 results

gCaisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR) groupThe Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR) group has published the 2021 results of its subsidiaries CCR-Réassurances publiques and CCR Re.

CCR-CCR-Réassurances publiques has totaled 1.054 billion EUR (1.2 billion USD) of premiums compared to 1.215 billion EUR (1.492 billion USD) by the end of 2020, declining by 13.2% over one year. The natural catastrophes class of business alone accounted for 87.8% of the total 2021 portfolio. The Nat Cat loss experience has decreased compared to the last four years with costs of 323.1 million EUR (365.9 million USD). The combined ratio increased by 10.9 points to reach 86.5%. The net profit of the public reinsurance class of business has progressed by 119.6% to stand at 134 million EUR (151.7 million USD).

The commercial reinsurance entity, CCR Re, has posted an 843 million EUR (954.6 million USD) turnover, representing a 30% improvement compared to 2020. The combined ratio went up by 6.6 points from 103.2% in 2020 to 96.6% a year later. The net result amounted to 41 million EUR (46.4 million USD), a 127.8% growth compared to the 18 million EUR (22.1 million USD) recorded in 2020.

At its meeting held on 16 March 2022, CCR Re's Board of Directors has proposed the distribution of a dividend of a total amount of 12.3 million EUR (13.9 million USD).
